Government Efficiency

Dave strongly believes in finding ways to make government more efficient. Some of his efforts include:

• Dave sponsored the discount prescription drug program which provides lower cost drugs to citizens at no cost to the taxpayer.
• The 2005 general fund budget had a multi-million dollar deficit. Dave supported the successful effort to balance the budget without raising taxes.
• Dave was a leader in building the new jail without new taxes.
• Dave sponsored the legislation for the Taxpayer Relief Program that will provide cash incentives to employees who make suggestions that will save the taxpayers money.
• As Mayor of Mountlake Terrace he lead the successful efforts to join fire services with Fire District 1. The result: better service at a lower cost.
• Dave chairs the Operations/Performance Auditing Committee. The Committee works with the Snohomish County Performance Auditor to make government more efficient
