Roads and Transportation
One of the greatest problems facing our region is transportation. Dave has worked hard to improve transportation in a number of ways.
Important new road projects including:
- 132nd St SE: A crucial east-west connector that not only improves traffic but that also came in roughly $4,000,000 under budget.
- 35th Ave SE between 120th Pl and Seattle Hill Road: Another segment of this vital north-south corridor completed, also under budget.
- Puget Park Drive: Scheduled to begin work this summer.
- SR 524: Work on the first phase of this project connecting Thrasher's Corner and Lynnwood is beginning this summer.
Dave has also served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Regional Transportation Investment District (RTID). Created by the Legislature, the RTID is preparing to submit a comprehensive transportation plan to the voters in 2006. Key projects include:
- Completion of all phases of SR 524 work
- Improvements to the 128th interchange at I-5
- Improvements to Highway 9
- Expansion of the Canyon Park park and ride lot
- Improvements to the Bothell-Everett Highway
- Improvements to the 39/35th Ave SE corridor to Seattle Hill Road
As a member of the Community Transit Board Dave has worked for better and increased transit. Over 32,000 hours of bus service have been added. The Mountlake Terrace park and ride lot will be expanded, more than doubling the number of parking spots.
