Re-Elect Dave Gossett - Home

Public Safety

Dave has worked hard to increase the number of deputies responding to 911 emergency calls. 30 more deputies are on the force since his election. He sponsored legislation that dedicated future new gambling revenues to increasing the number of patrol deputies.

Methamphetamine  and drug houses are an increasing problem. Dave supported the creation of a Meth Strike Team in the Sheriff's office to target meth sellers. He supported the addition of a dedicated prosecutor to help close drug houses. When the Health District ran short of money to clean up contaminated drug houses Dave helped find additional money so they could continue this vital work. He supports the efforts at both the state and local level to restrict the availability of the ingredients used to make methamphetamine.

Once arrested, there has to be a place to put criminals. Without the new jail we would soon have run out of space. Dave was a leader in finding ways to build the new jail without increasing taxes.

Victim's rights are also very important. With the implementation of the new VINE computer system crime victims will be notified automatically when an offender is incarcerated at the county jail, released, or transferred to another facility.

Dave is endorsed by the Snohomish County Deputy Sheriff's Association and Prosecutor Janis Ellis.
